Tube Circuit Gain Calculator

Tubes || AX84 version || RC-22/mu version || RC-22/gm version
This calculator is based on a standard gain equation noted in the design docs of the http://www.ax84.com/ (AX84 amp project) pages:
plate resistance || plate load resistance || following grid resistance
----------------------------------------------------------------------
            (1 / transconductance) + cathode resistance
A sample circuit image is available to show the resistances used. I've added the capability to include cathode bypass caps in the cathode resistance value.

NOTES:
Values may be any standard form (68400 or 68.4K, 1M or 1000000, etc.)
If the circuit has no cathode resistor bypass cap, use "0" for the cathode bypass cap value.
Frequency matters only with a cathode bypass cap.

Use comma for decimal pointCheck this if you use European formatted number instead of the USA format.
Plate resistance : from tube manual or spec sheet
Plate load resistor : value of resistor between plate and power supply
Following grid resistance : grid resistance of following circuit or plate load resistance
Transconductance (in uMHOs) : from tube manual or spec sheet
Cathode resistor : value of cathode resistor
Cathode cap[s] : value of cathode bypass cap[s]-- multiple values allowed, separated by spaces
Frequency : matters only with bypass cap; if you use this, try at least extreme values you care about. For guitar, this would be 60 and 6000. Unused if multiple bypass cap values are present.
