George P. Burdell - Film Star
"Discovered" by little-known cinema director
D'Arcy Keats while making training films,
Burdell acted in several early movies.
Unfortunately, none of the movies were
well produced. The rights were later sold
to a Mexican investor, and no known copies
of any of the movies exist. By all accounts,
Burdell was the bright point in each of the
films. He was later begged to act in Gone
With the Wind, but prefered to continue his
work with cedar-based sinotoxins with the
USAF, suggesting such parts were better left
to "younger, brasher, egotists."
Burdell always acted as his own stunt double.
